Mesenchymal Stromal Cells in the Bone Marrow

The bone marrow niche is an extremely complex environment with a wide range of cells contributing to the support of Haematopoietic Stem and Progenitor cells as well as driving their differentiation. Mesenchymal Stromal Cells (MSCs) are a heterogeneous population of cells known to contribute to the niche and by improving understanding how more defined MSC subtypes play a role in the haematopoiesis we may better understand aberrant haematopoiesis during disease.
